Mary Ann Tully

Mary Ann has been painting for twenty years. Storytelling with paint, she creates worlds of beauty, mystery and hope. Her love of colour and design infuses her watercolour, acrylic and mixed media work with a rich tapestry-like quality.

She views art as a celebration of the human spirit. It has allowed her to express her voice with regard to human rights and various social issues. She is especially interested in the stories women tell with their hands in daily work and in the art and craft they create.

Her more recent work honours nature, its beauty and the need for its protection. Her home is called "Wenrio" (also the name of Mary Ann's studio), a Huron word meaning "In a Grove of Cedars". Situated in a forest in Oro-Medonte Township and protected by a conservation easement, it is an essential source of her inspiration and creativity. The unique log home which she shares with her husband and two cats is surrounded by gardens. It is a stop each year on The Coldwater and Area Studio Tour.

Mary Ann's paintings are in private collections from Vancouver to Nova Scotia. She exhibits regularly in the Orillia, Craighurst and Georgian Bay area, as well as in her home gallery.

Prints and cards are available in addition to her originals. Please inquire about sizes and prices.
